In this study, an up-to-date analysis of child poverty in the city of Barcelona is prepared in the new post-crisis scenario. It shows how, despite having experienced a significant reduction in child poverty, the social protection received by families with children remains very scarce and ineffective. This situation is reflected in the data presented in the report, where it is highlighted how in 2016, still 16.8% of the population under 18 was in a situation of poverty or social exclusion in the Catalan capital.
