The report “Analysis and updating of the demarcation and judicial plant in Catalonia. Violence against women” is the result of a commission from the Department of Justice, Rights, and Memory that arises within the Catalan Observatory of Justice from a demand for study on possible scenarios of specialisation of VIDO courts. Currently, victims of violence against women are served by a specialised court only if this type of court exists in the judicial party where they live. Otherwise, they are served by a court of first instance and instruction, dealing with all kinds of crimes. The report explores new scenarios of re-territorialisation that should allow the population to be increased by a specialised court. Indicators are presented around proximity, quality, coherence, and workloads for 9 current demarcations and simulation of the behaviour of indicators in 18 alternative scenarios.
