The starting point of this project was the disparity of results between two INE sources, the ECV Living Conditions Survey) and the Home Income Distribution Atlas, for two very relevant indicators, such as the Gini Index, to measure inequality, and Monetary Poverty Risk to measure poverty. These differences are analyzed by comparing the distributions of both sources for household income per unit of consumption. A combined distribution of both sources is obtained such as the surrounding function and, taking it as a reference, it is concluded that the ECV may be partially overestimating poverty and slightly underestimating inequality, with a fairly general character. For its part, the Atlas partially overvalues poverty and also overvalues inequality in general.
