The mobility of women in the metropolitan area is more sustainable than that of men, since they travel more by walking and by public transport. However, the use of bicycles, the other means considered sustainable—and which is the focus of this study—is less common among women.

The objective of this document is to deepen the knowledge of the mobility experience of women users—and non-users—of bicycles based on data from the EMEF and a survey designed and carried out expressly for this purpose on the cycling mobility aimed at women in the metropolis of Barcelona.
