The population of migrant origin from low-income countries presents greater socio-economic risks than the rest of the population, especially those in a situation of administrative irregularity. This social vulnerability is exacerbated during periods of economic decline such as the pandemic crisis.

This study presents an estimate of the foreign population in a situation of administrative irregularity in the city of Barcelona in recent years. In addition, an approximation of the living conditions of this group is elaborated that highlights the extreme social vulnerability that this population suffers, largely due to the limited social protection to which it can have access.
